The preparation check works with non-identifying status choices. It keeps a distinction between information you have ready, information you need to check and situations that need a different conversation.

    Choose the real situation

First policy, passed test, learner, changing an existing policy or an activity outside a normal private-car journey.

Car Insurance Prep Check

For private passenger-car first-policy preparation. It does not collect a name, address, registration, exact mileage, claims details, payment information or licence number.

  • Keep zero NCD as a complete answer
  • Leave shared main-driver facts visible to check
  • Separate paid delivery and learner situations from a generic car route
  • Check date and timing facts without claiming cover exists

Read the question you actually have.

Each guide states what it can support, what remains provider-specific and where the source comes from.

Insurance preparation is not insurance cover.

You must check your documents and the questions asked by the relevant provider. GOV.UK says drivers need motor insurance to drive on UK roads; an online checklist does not put cover in place.
